Fairview Country Club traces its roots to 1904, when two men – Albert Heyman and Fred Herz – found the first of three homes for Fairview in Elmsford, New York. Commercialization of the Elmsford area started in 1956, and the coming of Route 287 in 1960 shattered the tranquility of the club’s old setting forever. The members agreed to buy the Greenwich land, and sell the old Elmsford property, on July 3, 1965. The new site is comprised of 200 wooded acres belonging then to St. Luke’s Convalescent Hospital, including the hospital building itself, which became the clubhouse and has grown to include extensive support facilities. Fair view is a full service; family orientated private country club located 35 miles from New York City.
Those facilitates include a 65,000 ft clubhouse which offers its main dining room seating 230, the Campbell Room seating 80, Garden Room, tangent to the pool area seating 120, the Pool Terrace seating 300 plus and the pool snack bar which seats 100. The club offers members and guests long term lodging in their 26 guest rooms. There are 10 Har-Tru tennis courts and two Premier tennis courts with shop. The club hosts 14,500 golf rounds annually of which less than 500 rounds are generated from outings. The Club recently finished construction on a state of the art 13,000 square foot golf course maintenance facility. Gross revenues are in excess of $6.5 million with food and beverage revenues of $1.1 million of which are $150,000 is beverage services. The Club has 60 beds dedicated to staff housing tangent to the maintenance facility and within the clubhouse. The Club views themselves as an employer of choice with a very stable workforce throughout the club.
Club operations are seasonal with the Club operating weekends only October through April and six to seven days per week May through September and as you would expect, the Club is very service intensive during this period.
Fairview is seeking an Assistant General Manager with an outstanding track record and fine reputation. Expected is direct experience and success with creating an excellent customer service environment, service training, an eye for housekeeping details along both of these elements the experience to develop processes and procedures to support food service and housekeeping standards. While private events are somewhat limited, the AGM (along with the Chef) will book and execute those events. Excellent communication skills with staff, membership and the management team are required - verbal as well as written communications. Experience working in Jewish clubs would be particularly attractive yet club experience is crucial.
Operative descriptors of the ideal candidate include proactive, option driven, excellent leader, team player, follow - up and follow-through, eye for detail, employee centric management style, visible and engaging with an active membership. An upbeat personality and a collaborative style are critical. The successful candidate will think and act like the Club’s concierge, displaying a high touch service attitude
Career affiliations are important therefore we expect participation in CMAA both National and local and ongoing career development work to enhance you and your impact on Fairview. A hospitality degree is preferred along with 3-5 years of experience in the private club or 5 star hotel environment.

Compensation: An attractive package will be offered including a significant base salary, performance bonus, health insurance, 401(k) with match, CMAA and others benefits as negotiated.
